Log Cabin Quilt Coat
The Log Cabin Quilt Coat is made from an antique American Log Cabin Quilt from the late 19th century. It's made from cotton, linen and wool fabrics. It has hand loomed Red Velvet Silk cuffs and belt. Log Cabin Quilts became popular during the civil war era. They were hung outside homes and churches to signify safe houses for Black Americans escaping slavery using the Underground Railroad. Quilts were used to navigate with hidden symbols and secret messages, helping to direct Black Americans to freedom.
This coat is one-of-a-kind made for the runway, part of the Hip Hop & Transcending Duality collection.
