About Us
Our story
An American Girl, Courtney, traveling the World, meets a Turkish Boy, Suleyman, running a famous Tree House Hotel. Boy buys girl some Traditional Turkish Yemini shoes, the rest is history. Eighteen years of marriage later they‘ve traveled the world, started three businesses, birthed two children, Nida & Lu, and returned to the shoes and the traditions that started it all.
Our Relationships
Being from Türkiye, Suleyman wanted to bring the culture and traditions from his homeland back to the US. Creating close relationships with the families and artisans making their product was imperative. In 2017 Suleyman met Ibrahim, a shoemaker in Gaziantep, Türkiye. Ibrahim and his family have been crafting shoes for generations, using a 700-year-old shoemaking technique. Suleyman works closely with Ibrahim and his team to design in-house, creating new styles each season.
OUR RELATIONSHIPS
In 2018, Courtney decided to incorporate her love for fashion with the beautiful textiles she had been collecting from Türkiye and the surrounding regions. Courtney began to search out master sewers in Seydisehir, Türkiye, the birthplace of her in-laws, and the location of their summer home. She met Nevzat, master sewer of a small sewing shop in Seydishir. Nevzat and his crew specialize in Men’s suits and traditional Anatolian clothing. His expertise and craftsmanship comes from over fifty years of application. Courtney’s gratitude is infinite, for Nevzat and his team for making her designs a reality.
