MUSE: Frida Kahlo

MUSE at Van Go, was my proudest moment in fundraising. We created an annual event series that celebrates iconic artists through immersive fashion, art, music, and performances.  Transforming their legacy into a vibrant evening of creativity and community. We started the series with non-other than Frida Kahlo. 

Frida Kahlo has been my greatest inspiration since I was twelve years old.  The moment I saw her work in a London and felt, for the first time, that being bold, different and flawed is beautiful.

I followed her from country to country seeing as many Frida Kahlo exhibits as possible. I studied in Mexico City. I stood inside her blue house and looked into her mirror above her bed. And through it all, I carried her with me in the way I've always expressed myself most honestly, through the pieces I wear.

The Frida Kahlo Collection is my love letter to her. and to every woman who doesn't give a shit.
