Care Instructions
Nida Lu Shoes are either Grounding, Earthing shoes; with only leather between the foot and the ground, allowing the wearer to connect with the Earth's vital energy, or they have a thin layer of rubber attached to each shoe below the leather foot bed. The thin layer is meant to protect the leather above, and support the form. The layer is thick enough not to intervene in the initial adaptation process of the leather forming to your foot. The rubber sole should be replaced if it starts to peel or wear down with use. This may happen within the first year, depending on your foot form, wearing patterns and environmental conditions. The sole replacement can be done by any local cobbler. The rubber will last longer than the first one, since the shoes have already completed the adaptation phase. The stitches are handmade with a single cotton thread. if the stitches come loose do not be concerned. It's typically the last stitch of the thread, and can simply be cut off. The leather should be cared for to maximize the lifetime of your shoes. If the leather seems dry, you can treat them with an oil based leather conditioner. Suede or Nubuck leather should be cared for using a suede brush without applying other products. Care for your Nida Lu Shoes, and they will last you a lifetime.
All limited edition Nida Lu Clothing is made from either vintage Suzani textiles or hand loomed Ikat textiles. All these fabrics are cotton with cotton threading or a blend of silk and cotton. All the dyes used are natural plant based dyes. It is recommended to Dry Clean these garments. All our fur is repurposed from vintage fur coats. Fur is either rabbit, sheep shearling or mink. Clothing with fur will specify its content in the listing. If the clothing is not limited edition the fabric and dye content will vary. Please look for care instructions on each listing.
