Quilted Vest & Skirt Set

The Quilted vest & Skirt Set is made from a limited-edition cotton Ikat, hand loomed in Uzbekistan.  The Vest is quilted with a zip neck closure and a glass pearlescent button. The matching skirt is not quilted, straight with a long mermaid ruffle detail and side zip closure.  Uzbek Ikat uses a technique, abrandi, "bounded cloud". It is a process of resist dyeing, bounding the warp yarns, which later dyed by hand, before being woven with the weft yards. Wearing Ikat fabric was once equivalent to wearing gold medals, its artistry was recognized with prestige.
