Ikat Skirt

The Ikat Skirt is made from a limited-edition cotton Ikat, hand loomed in Uzbekistan.  The skirt is straight with a long mermaid ruffle detail and side zip closure.  Uzbek Ikat uses a technique, abrandi, "bounded cloud". It is a process of resist dyeing, bounding the warp yarns, which later dyed by hand, before being woven with the weft yards. Wearing Ikat fabric was once equivalent to wearing gold medals, its artistry was recognized with prestige.
